Every sale on an e-commerce platform comes with a tax bill attached, but most platforms never show it. Vendors can see their balance, their inflows, and their outflows, down to the last transaction. Tax, though, stays invisible until withdrawal, when the number they expected and the number they actually get can look nothing alike. This case study explores a Smart Tax Assistant built directly into the vendor wallet, designed to bring that invisible number into view long before it becomes a surprise.

Vendors could see everything about their money, balance, inflows, and outflows, down to the smallest transaction except the one number that mattered most for planning ahead: what they'd actually owe in tax. That number lived somewhere else entirely, disconnected from the rest of their financial picture, which made it hard to plan a withdrawal or feel confident about what was really theirs to keep.
Vendors could see everything about their money, balance, inflows, and outflows, down to the smallest transaction except the one number that mattered most for planning ahead: what they'd actually owe in tax. The fix was simple in concept: put tax where vendors already look. An Estimated Tax card now lives right inside the wallet dashboard, using sales data and location-based tax rules to calculate an estimate automatically updating in real time as new sales come in. One click opens a full breakdown:
